What happens if there's bad weather? 

School may close or open on a delayed schedule due to inclement weather.  In this case, inclement weather absences will be made up on Staff Development Days. Richmond County Schools students will dismiss at 12:30 PM on Staff Development Days, with staff members leaving at 6:00 PM. For excessive weather related absences, Saturdays may be considered. 

Richmond Early College High School's makeup days will follow the Richmond Community College schedule for inclement weather. 

How can I found out if schools are delayed or closed? 

• The district's website, www.richmond.k12.nc.us, will have inclement weather updates on its homepage. 

• School Conencts Messages will be sent to ALL students' and parents' home phone numbers. 

• Local television and radio stations will announce school closings. 

• Richmond County Schools' social media outlets, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, will be updated throughout the day.
