Rockingham Middle School

Randy Guerry - Math

Welcome to 7th grade and to my (Mr. Guerry's) math class!  This year has all the markings and potential to be a really great one. It will take the effort of both of us to accomplish this greatness. One thing I have found is that the nine weeks, semesters, and the year itself slips by very quickly and only the truly diligent and serious conquer that reality and absorb every possible math morsel available to them in 7th grade.  To that end, I strongly recommend and encourage students to make good use of all resources available to them such as  TenMarks and Front Row for studying and practicing, especially in weak areas. Obtaining success will require good, and well honed reading and critical thinking skills. A good rule of thumb is to take deliberate time when going through and working problems.  Although the new material introduced in 7th grade can be challenging, you guys are up to it - make it a personal goal.  Good attendance, staying on task and practicing each night is my advice to you. Taking good notes, completing the homework sheet each week, and studying a minimum of 15 minutes each night will go a long way in your successful mastery of the 7th grade and in particular, my math class. Although it all seems really "new" right now, the year will whiz by before you know it.  So................  be, and stay diligent in your work.

The Rev."
