Michelle Burns, Inspiring Excellence recipient with Chairman, Wiley Mabe, HMS Principal, Karen Allen and Dr. Cindy Goodman
 
 
At the Richmond County Schools Board of Education meeting held on Thursday, April 12, 2018, Public Information Officer, Briana Goins recognized three individuals who Inspire Excellence at Hamlet Middle School. 
 
Certified recipient, Michelle Burns, has served as an Academic Coach at HMS for 8 years and been with our district for 25 years. Principal, Karen Allen said "She understands the curriculum in all disciplines and supports teaching and learning on all levels, from analyzing data to implementing effective lessons. " 
 
Classified recipient, Vallerie Magee was also recognized for her excellent work. Ms. Magee has been with HMS for 9 years and the district for 23 years. She said, "anytime you wake up and don't mind going to work, you know that you're in the right place." You can find Ms. Magee at the front desk of HMS, efficiently working to keep things running smoothly.
 
Last but certainly not least, Mr. John Jackson. He has been with RCS for 7 years as a dedicated bus driver and helping hand. Mrs. Allen said, "It's nice that our students are able to start and end their day at HMS with such a positive presence." Mr. Jackson is often seen safely delivering our students to school and back home, all with a smiling face.
