On Tuesday, December 12th, students from Richmond Senior High School and the RC Ninth Grade Academy hosted an art show at the Cole Auditorium. An array of pieces were on display, including 2D, 3D, portraits, sculptures, and paintings. The drop-in style show attracted a crowd of many, and attendees were also invited to vote for their favorite pieces from each grade level.

Morgan Cauley took Best in Show for 9th grade. Our 10th-grade winner was Annika Carpenter, followed by 11th grader, Emily Harris. And Best in Show for 12th-grade was awarded to Caleb Dickens!

Shortly after the visual art show, the Raider Concert Band and Raider Guitar Ensemble performed, Sleigh Ride, On a Catalonian Carol, and Christmas "Pop" Sing-A-Long under the direction of Mr. Mike Ward, with the assistance of 11th grader, Christopher McDonald who led, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree

Erin McNair led the Raider Holiday Bell Choir, Women's and Men's Choir(s), and the Raider Concert Choir. Students performed songs such as White Christmas, Agnus Dei, and Heaven Everywhere. Former director, Debbie Price, joined the Raiders (both present and former) on stage for an interactive audience performance of Peace, Peace. And the combined Raider Chorus closed with a special rendition of Silent Night.

Congratulations to every student who worked hard to have their pieces displayed at the 2017 Winter Gala Art show, and to our Raider Concert Band, Holiday Bell Choir, Guitar Ensemble, Women's Choir, Men's Choir, and Concert Choir!

A special thank you to Ms. Andrea McIver, Mr. Mike Ward, and Mrs. Erin McNair. We are simply blown away by the amount of talent within Richmond County Schools, and the amount of time and dedication that our teachers put forth to produce such excellence.
