Inclement Weather
What happens if there's bad weather?
In the event of inclement weather, Richmond County Schools may close or operate on a delayed schedule.
Delayed Schedule: If schools operate on a delayed schedule, the start time will be pushed back to allow for safer travel conditions. Specific delay times will be communicated through various channels.
School Closures: If schools need to be closed for the day, students will not attend classes, and all school activities will be canceled.
Remote Workdays: If the district has notice of anticipated inclement weather, students may receive assignments to complete on the day schools are closed. This allows students to be counted as 'remote off-site' during closures due to severe weather conditions, energy shortages, power failures, or other emergency situations.
