Attendance
School attendance and class participation are critical components of academic achievement and the overall teaching-learning process. Regular attendance helps students develop essential patterns of behavior that are crucial for both professional and personal success. In accordance with the State of North Carolina, every child between the ages of 7 (or younger if enrolled) and 16 is required to attend school regularly.
Parents, guardians, and families play a vital role in ensuring that students attend and remain at school daily. It is their responsibility to support regular attendance, understanding its importance in their child's educational journey. School administrators are committed to clearly communicating attendance expectations to parents and guardians, and to collaborating with students and their families to address and overcome any barriers to regular attendance.
All students must adhere to the attendance standards as outlined in the North Carolina General Statutes Compulsory Attendance Law and the Richmond County Schools Attendance Policy 4400. By working together, we can help every student achieve their full potential through consistent and engaged participation in school.
