RCS Announces Next Executive Director of Human Resources

Richmond County Schools is pleased to announce Danielle Meeks as the district’s next Executive Director of Human Resources following approval by the Richmond County Board of Education at the May meeting.

Meeks brings more than a decade of experience in public education, with a background that includes teacher support, professional development, behavior intervention, and district-level systems leadership. She currently serves as a Behavior Support Specialist with Richmond County Schools, where she works alongside teachers, administrators, and district leaders to support staff and strengthen systems across multiple schools.

“Danielle brings a strong understanding of both people and public education,” said Superintendent Dr. Joe Ferrell. “Her experience supporting employees, building relationships, and helping schools navigate challenges has already made a positive impact in Richmond County Schools. We are excited to see her continue serving the district in this leadership role.”

Prior to joining Richmond County Schools, Meeks served in district leadership and special education roles in Indiana. She earned a Master of Science in Human Resource Management from Western Governors University and holds a bachelor’s degree in education with dual licensure in elementary and special education. Her experience includes supporting educators through student behavior challenges, developing districtwide coaching frameworks and support systems, leading professional development, and collaborating with school leaders to help address complex school and staff needs.

“The most meaningful part of my career has been the opportunity to support and develop others,” Meeks said. “Seeing teachers grow in confidence, watching teams come together around solutions, and helping create supportive environments for students has been incredibly rewarding.”

Meeks said her experience working directly in schools has helped shape a collaborative and solutions-oriented approach to leadership.

“I believe strong Human Resources leadership is about building systems that help people feel valued, supported, and able to do their best work, while also ensuring consistency, accountability, and strong communication across the district,” Meeks said.

Meeks is excited to begin her new role and shared that the people working in public education continue to inspire and motivate her each day. “Every day, educators, support staff, and school leaders show up with incredible dedication to students and families,” Meeks said. “Being part of work that supports others and ultimately impacts students in meaningful ways is something I truly value.”

Meeks will transition into the role in July. She will follow Dr. Tesha Isler, who has served the district for 10 years and is returning home to be closer to her family.
