Dear
Richmond County Parents and Citizens,

Welcome to the North Carolina Report Card for Richmond County Schools. The data you will see here provides important information concerning your student’s school and our entire school system.

The Report Card highlights our district for 2010-11 school year and includes important information about school and student performance, class sizes, attendance, school safety, school facilities, instructional resources and teacher quality.

The Report Card also includes our standings within the federal Adequate Yearly Progress targets, and the state accountability program, ABCs of Public Education. Report card data is available for each of our schools, for the school district and for the state’s education system as a whole.

While the numbers in the Report Cards are important indicators of how our schools and students are performing, we consider parent and community involvement equally important. Although we are not able to measure involvement as we measure testing, we recognize how vital it is to the success of our students, staff and entire school system.

The complete North Carolina Report Card is available on the NC Report Card website at www.ncreportcards.org.  The full report card for each school in our district and for the system can be found at that same website. A two-page summary, the Report Card Snapshot, is also available at the site.

Our district wants to ensure that all stakeholders to are well-informed and involved in our school. Thank you for your interest in our schools and for supporting our efforts to provide the children of this county with the best possible education.

Sincerely,

George E. Norris, Ed.D.
Superintendent
